VISUAL STORYTELLER

My work moves between documentary photography and editorial storytelling. Originally trained in architecture at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia and the Helsinki Institute of Technology, I eventually turned to photography, graduating from the Paris International Photographic Institute. I then spent four years working as a freelance photographer in Patagonia and at an advertising photography studio in Buenos Aires. I am now based in the Italian Alps.

Curiosity and a deep connection with the outdoors have always shaped the way I explore the world. Much of my travelling has been on foot, by bicycle, kayak or aboard my sailboat, Circe. An alpinist and skier, I have climbed mountains across the Alps and Scandinavia, the Rocky Mountains, the Himalayas, the Tien Shan, the Pamir and the Andes. These experiences continue to inform my perspective, drawing me towards unfamiliar places, encounters with people and stories shaped by the relationship between humans and their environment.

My photographs and stories have appeared in magazines, books and catalogues in Italy, the United States, Argentina, Austria, France, Germany and Japan, including Skialper, Clarín, Rock & Ice, Adventure Kayak, California’s Adventure Sports Journal, Montagnes, Wider, The Pill and Rock & Snow Japan. I have also published two photography books: Sur Patagonia (Litodelta, 2009), a photographic journey through Patagonia, and Alto Adige, emozioni in volo (Folio Verlag, 2012), dedicated to aerial and drone photography.

Alongside photography, I work in documentary filmmaking, exploring the relationship between people, landscapes and the environments they inhabit. In 2015, I co-shot and co-produced TOM, an award-winning film screened at festivals around the world, including the Kendal Mountain Festival, Bansko Film Festival and Cervinia Film Festival. In 2022, I directed INSOSTENIBILE – Un viaggio lungo l’Alta Via Dolomiti Bellunesi, produced in collaboration with Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi, Karpos, AKU, CAI and the Municipality of Feltre, and later made available on Amazon Prime Video.

In 2019, I won the Arc’teryx King of Dolomites photography contest. I also collaborate as an ambassador and product tester with outdoor brands whose work connects with my interests in exploration and the outdoors, including GM Sport socks, Advanced Elements kayaks, Voyager expedition food and SOTO outdoor equipment.

For me, photography and filmmaking are ways of exploring, observing and sharing the world. They offer a means of looking beyond the surface, paying attention to places and people, and discovering the stories that connect them.
