Bivacco Aldo Moro
When architecture climbs the mountains.
At 2,565 metres, in the heart of the Lagorai, architecture meets the demands of the high mountains. Designed by architect Raffaele Cetto, the new Bivacco Aldo Moro rethinks the role of the alpine bivouac: a place of shelter and safety, shaped by extreme conditions and a delicate relationship with the surrounding landscape.
I visited it in winter, reaching the bivouac on skis through a snow-covered landscape, where its architecture stood out against the white slopes and the silence of the mountains.
